Since 1989, Deon assisted leading South African Banks and Insurance Companies in identifying and development of clear visions and strategic directions in terms of all aspects of Information Services, provisioning of an advanced, user friendly, business-driven technology platform to enhance efficiency, increase cost savings, and provide them with a competitive advantage, delivering financial success over the longer term by rationalising the Information Systems, recruitment, training, development and retention of required number and quality of staff to serve the company in the future. During this period, Deon held various positions, which included: General Manager Information Technology (CGU Insurance), Head IT of Electronic Banking (Standard Corporate and Merchant Bank), Divisional Manager (Dexel (Pty) Ltd) and IT Director (African Bank) roles.
